  • It is interesting to me that sled dogs that run for miles in harness all their lives are frequently hale and working at 13 years old. Couch potato dogs who are kept in the back yard much of the time are old at 8 years. I disagree that exercising dogs with a well designed sulky is animal abuse. Daphne Lewis of Chalo Sulky

  • Please take a look at "Your Dog Can Pull" on YouTuvw. One thing is to stop before he gets tired. Teach him both "pull" and "Wait" so that "pull" becomes a command. If he is beginning to tire, tell him "Wait" and make him stay lined out. He will want to go again after standing and waiting. Go to Chalo Sulky and click on "Train Your Dog to Pull". (Old site is about to be changed to new site so exact wording is not for sure) Daphne Lewis

  • Hello Oliva, I sell these sulkies at Chalo Sulky. Daphne Lewis

  • awesome.so these dogs can acutally pull an adult. --> i weight 72 kgs do u reckon 1 dog can pull me? or should i get another one?

  • @talk2malawyer In this short video I am being pulled by my 48 pound female (21 kg) and my friend is being pulled by my 77 pound male (35 kg). One dog can pull you. Two is more fun if both are willing to pull and have similar speeds. Check out the other videos by Daphne Lewis.

  • @TrentonsGap How is that abuse??

  • @TrentonsGap actually, dogs love to run, and almost all love to feel usefull. Most dogs in america are not excercised enough and suffer from hypertension and behavioral issues because of it (according to Cesear XD). This is a great way to Get your dog the excercise it needs and make it a contributin member of the household.

  • Animal abuse

    !!!!

  • @RatongaBruiser i don't put the collar on tight...i make sure it's just tight enough that it won't slide down too much. what's the point of going to classes when they teach the same thing you're teach at home and when i had my last dog, i did take him to obedience class. i just use those technique in the past to teach the dog i have right now. yes i first started riding bike and let him run along side of me before letting him pull me. he knows his left and right turn and stop.

  • @j0hnxjxrambo

Well, for one, a pulling dog should 'not' have a tightening collar or lead, especially if you do not know what you are doing. I'd take up a basic obedience class or get a book and go to the beginning to make sure your dog comes and stays on command, as well as understands 'mush' 'gee' 'haw' and 'ho'. Those are some basic requirements before your dog pulls anything or even runs along your bike so you have control. It's like having a horse who doesn't know to stop.
