Let's play SimCity 4 - Part 1 -

I thought making a let's play would be fun so here's my first youtube upload! I'm not planning to add voice as i don't "speak" english that well, i'm still looking for a simple program to add text baloons. Also would you guys like it better if i increase the speed as i'm pretty slow sometimes and planning stuff.

I'm offcourse playing without cheats, and i think i'm pretty good at it so you might see this as a tutorial too becaus i see lots of people strugle with this game.

So i start off making a farming village.

@joppesmurf As long as you don't build to many roads to your main grid and make it so thats sims have to take a longer route if they travel through neighbourhoods you can experiment with it as much as you like. I always try to design new layouts with the above 2 rules in mind.

Could someone explain why, in the cities with people, the intersections near the edge always wind up with massive traffic?

@warriorjames I think that is because most sims might need to be in the other region. And the path finder favours one direction of another, so if the side of the map is reached they go all the way down. You could use rush hour to see where they all come from, then try and fix it.

@HAXXori On another computer? Yes why not lol? From another computer? Well if you have the CD image there you can, use daemon tools or something...

How do you change the way the houses are pointing?

Why do you start with 500,000 and I can only start with 100,000?

@madmenyo Thanks. I've got SC4 Deluxe (Which, if I recall, is a fusion of the normal & Rush Hour), and I do use the traffic flow to see what's used most during the morning & evening rush.
