4th Grade Venture Class wrote a chant for The Butterfly Project sponsored by the Houston Holocaust Musuem. This class has joined in to help collect 1.5 million handmade butterflies.
Lyrics:
The Butterfly Project ya'll (repeat)
It starts with the Holocaust (repeat)
In 1933, Hitler came to be, the Chancellor of Germany
Innocent people died, it wrapped up in '45
And now we're collecting (repeat)
A trunk full of butterflies in memory of those that died
So why a butterfly? (repeat)
A poem was written by a child that never saw (another butterfly-repeat)
And that is why it's called
The Butterfly Project ya'll (repeat)

  • Wow! That was really sweet, Miss Brook! It is my goal to take you all to see the exhibit once it's ready! We will have to do a lot of fundraising, but it will be worth it!

  • that was really good how did you get them to cooperate

  • This group loves to be creative so it's not hard to get them to cooperate. I don't have to make them do anything...they want to do it! Thanks for the comment. We appreciate it!

  • They worked really hard on this chant! I am so proud of them! I hope you view the lyrics under the "about this video" section. What a great way to incorporate history and music!
