The Washington-Centerville Public Library is honored to display this rare, donated facsimile edition of the Book of Kells, a world-famous 9th century illuminated manuscript. Study the history behind a book acclaimed to be the most beautiful book ever written and then visit the library each week to appreciate this magnificent book. One page of the book will be displayed each week, in the same way the pages of the original are displayed at Trinity College in Dublin to a half million people each year.

  • Beautiful music. Does anyone know the name of the song playing in the background?

  • @michaeldavid26 According to the videographer, Valley Forge Productions, the music was part of a royalty free package purchased from a company called "Stock20". Sorry, we don't know the exact name. Glad you enjoyed the music!

  • @johnlang69 Your ignorance is astounding! The book was written by Irish monks in an Irish monastic settlement in Iona, a mission that was founded in 563 by the Irish monk Saint Columba, who was born in County Donegal, Ireland. The Latin term Scotti (which you refer to) actually refers to the Gaelic-speaking people of Ireland and the Irish who settled in western Scotland. You embarrass with yourself with your CAPITALISED neglect to acquire knowledge before you post such bigoted trivia.

  • @Ahadi12345 am sorry u love studing irish history...u cant be that good because the book is scottish and from iona in the western isles of scotland written buy about thirty monks...irish history my arse.....THEY SHOULD GIVE THE BLOODY BOOK BACK.
