  • If the driver only uses the mirror, you will be in the blind spot. (S)he should, of course, turn the head as well.

    Three uears ago I was his in the same position (or opposite, since we drive in the other side). Difference is I was driving a lorry! She looked into the mirror and saw the van behind me, but not me with the bumber next to her back seat side window. She slammed into me crushing her door and fender. (whats a "fender" in british english anyway? the dictionary says "american english")

  • Fender = Bumper

    Hood = Bonnet

    Trunk = Boot

  • You could easily have slowed down. It was clear the car was pulling out. Maybe work on the assumption that the driver doesnt always see you and look after yourself. Ive watched a couple of your videos now and i fear your cycling days may be numbered :-(

  • He had his signal on up until the point he actually needed it on.

  • I'm in my 60's and I've been a motorcyclist since I was 17. You always give the car the right of way. Right of way don't mean crap if you're dead. I still ride and I still give the right of way to cars.

  • @scumspeedy My words exactly.Sure,the bike can't be blamed officially,but in reality I say that it was bad cycling of him since it would have been so easy to let him pull out without even braking much.

  • You created the danger in that situation! It was clear the driver didn't see you yet you continued cycling!

  • I don't know about you but where I am, junctions are the worst parts to pass on a bike. Cars come speeding up to the end then dart out, cutting you off (practically taking the paintwork off your bike!)

    I really cannot trust them

  • Ah typical bad pulling away. Although personally I would have been defensive and pulled in behind the car or to it's left.

  • Ohh:) Maybe it was not pleasant but there was pretty much space. Can see my videos with Moscow traffic jam, there are truly small gaps between vehicles

  • Hmm, then it wasn't the fender. I was thinking of the plates around the wheel... The side of the boot so to speak.
