Let's Play Breath of Fire 3 - #036 - Getting enemy skills part 2

Two of the monsters in the Mt. Zublo region can grant you TON of EXPERIENCE points if you're patient! They are the lavamen and the Vulcan. You can "level" these monsters up by casting fire spells on them. The Vulcan can be leveled up once where as the lava men can be leveled up multiple times. IIRC you can level the lava men up to 15 times but be careful as they can become EXTREMELY powerful and kill you with one hit. Doing so however will net you over 60,000 experience points!

I have plans later to make a "power leveling" episode to show you guys how I personally go about handling the lavamen! To give you a bit of primer though who may want to take advantage of this early in the game...

Come in with FULL on fire equips (magma armor, asbestos armor on garr, fire ring etc.). When the lava men level up they'll primarily use fire attacks and physical attacks. When they are high leveled they WILL kill people with physical attacks so keep one person on "ammonia" duty in order to revive people...do NOT bother healing them because one hit will kill them anyways. After all leveled up, kill them with an ICICLE item...that's the basic primer i'll give =)

Is this not the original PS1 version? I was unable to unlock Meryleep until I was an adult on Ryu...
