  • he reminds me of Mark Lamarr, so much.

  • Mark Lamarr is a talentless twat, who told him he was a stand-up comedian? I saw Lamarr's act once and he was screaming and pounding the floor for about a minute, it was embarrassing to watch and totally unfunny.

  • What happened to him? Was he killed in 1990 and replaced by a government created android?

He was so funny, sharp and honest in those days.

  • No, Ben Elton has definitely lost his edge, but we still have these clips of him in his prime to watch again.

  • @TroyDouglas917 Sounds like Ben's turn on Dave's One Night Stand...

  • hmm....the word, uninformed twat,comes to mind

  • what a cunt....

  • @RetroDoctorWho You guess wrong, I did see it, it wasn't that great. Ben Elton's comedy writing in the 80s was superb with The Young Ones and Blackadder, even Filthy, Rich and Catflap wasn't bad. Downhil from there. We Will Rock You was awful shit.

  • @TroyDouglas917 Ben Elton has not lost his edge at all, Did you see his looking at the 80's program? I'm guessing not. He is much better then and now to the shit comedians we have now, the women hating, lazy joke, Top Gear watching lot.

  • Used to love Saturday Night Live and Ben Elton - watching it 25 years later, it just seems tedious and he's so unbearably 'right-on'. Most comedians wouldn't get to the second 'joke', they would have been bottled off before then.

I think to the answer to sail1948 is: No.

    Hey ho

  • The big question of our time: Was Ben Elton ever really funny?

  • blimey ronnie corbetts let his hair go

  • Sharp Man.
