Colour Basis Demo with Christi on airbrushing your own foundation for HD makeup! She is one of the most sought after media appearance consultants in the country working with TV stations and networks nationally. Check out her inside tips...for more, go to www.colourbasis.com. Hi Christi Schreiber with Colour Basis here to talk to you a little bit about airbrush makeup today. Airbrush make is the ultimate for high definition makeup foundation application, and it's also terrific for everyday life as well. The good thing about high definition makeup application is that if it looks great on high definition television it will be beautiful in person as well. So, step one, get an airbrush. This is an air tube and this is a mini compressor. Now we set the stations up with larger professional size compressors. This size is your personal at home compressor. We also have cigarette lighter adapters where you can use it in field trucks as well. We do not recommend that you use them in your car while driving, we are about safety first. In any event, you take your airbrush foundation. It is a specific foundation for airbrush. It is a water-base foundation and it is just the right consistency to go through the airbrush and to be sprayed onto your skin in thousand of tiny dots. Which is why it's so compatible for high definition pixel technology. Because it emulates your skins pores by spraying on 1000's of tiny dots. So you can get full coverage makeup while still looking natural which is the goal. So we are going to start by turing the compressor on, that's the compressor and I am holding the gun just as if I am holding a pen, holding a writing pen. And so now I am going to start applying this to my face by pulling back on the trigger which allows the makeup to flow through the gun onto my face. I am doing smooth circular motions and going all over my face. Now the most common questions I get are " don't I need someone to apply it for me?" No, obviously you don't and second question is "do I need to close my eyes, and doesn't it get everywhere while you are doing it?" And the answer to both of those is of course, not exactly. Not exactly meaning the only time you need to close your eyes if you are doing a pass just right around the eye area. The rest of the time you want to leave your eye open. It's important that you see what you are doing in the mirror. And once you have done it a number of times you can do it by feel. Just as I am doing here, I can't see what I am doing here, I am talking to you. So, you do it strictly by feel. It's fabulous, love it. Our male clientele absolutely love it as well. Of course, I have my own theory about that, because there is a compressor and tool involved. But more so what their reaction is that it doesn't look like you have on any makeup and it doesn't feel like you have on any makeup. So it's great if you are at a sporting event, out in the field. Let's face it gorgeous, it is worth the investment. So check out our website and email me with any questions.

  • pinksaphire100, try soaking your airbrush in straight vinegar for about 2 hours, loosen the needle, twist and pull back about an inch and forward again to help remove the other makeup buildup. Rinse in hot water, tighten needle back up and see how it does...

  • the brand is dinair

yes its quite expensive between 200-300 but i would say its well worth it.

and u can get the foundation from the same company/ or different company but just make sure its airbrush makeup. I made the mistake of putting regular makeup, and now its all messed up.

  • what is the brand of the compressor ? izzit very expensive.... and do we need to constantly get the foundation from the company or can we use our own preferred foundation for this compressor?
