A beautiful song by david allan coe. I do not own any pictures shown here, nor do I own the rights to this music, so my thanks to d.a.c. and david mann (R.I.P.) for sharing their art with the world. (And a big fat middlefinger to any guy who removes the audio).

Lyrics:

She's hard to get started
She's always so cold
In the mornings I find her -
She's looking so old
There's so many miles
We've been down that road once or twice
She's not much to look at
When we ride through town
But I know when the chips fall
She won't let me down
She knows when to run
And she don't run around on her man

She's a high flying lady
She takes me where I want to be
There's no other woman
Standing between her and me
I'll always be faithful
And keep her 'til the end of time
God knows I'll always love
That old Panhead of mine

I've seen fancy dressers
And they've caught my eye
I rode'em to ride'em
Then I told them goodbye
I flirted with Low Riders
Sportsters and Shovelheads too
I've cussed her and beat her
And kicked her to just get her started
A couple of times
You might think I'm crazy
But I love that Panhead of mine.

She's a high flying lady
She takes me where I want to be
There's no other woman
Standing between her and me
I'll always be faithful
And keep her 'til the end of time
God knows I'll always love
That old Panhead of mine
God knows I'll always love
That old Panhead of mine
God knows I'll always love

  • @TheSHOVELHEADFREAK Still ride a chopped 76 FLH myself. I first heard this song on a tape I got at the AHDRA races in Rockinham NC about fifteen years ago. I never did find out what album it came out on. Still tinkerin and jammin on that thing after all these years. Folks I know ask my why I haven't gotten a newer bike and I say hell it took me ten years to get this one to fit me, I don't wanna start over again any time soon.

  • we as old Harley riders know old harleys never died we just keep rebuilding them. My son's always want my old pan head. I say nop my dad won't give up that old indian so you have to wait tell I get grand dads 48.. It's not in the ride it's in the journey where life is found..

  • Motorcycles forever forever motorcycles

  • I'd love to have a panhead but when your 23, ironheads are all you can afford.

  • some of the best times I ever had were in the late 1980's, early 1990's and it was on a 1976 Harley Davidson Sportster. I can't tell you how many times that thing rattled itself apart...we'd be on the side of the highway wrenching on it...and EVERYTIME another Harley rider would stop and offer a helping hand. That has never happened if my car broke down, no one offered to help..but on that bike there was always another biker willing to help. That was a great feeling. I miss those days.

  • Real Harleys have solid lifters and kick starters........didit

  • I love my 76 Ironhead... sure it's an AMF, but they saved Harleys ass back in the day! People ask why I don't get a newer bike, because them new bikes just have no soul! No history! Half the shit is made in China anyways on the new evos, and I really don't see myself ever owning an evo. I want the whole line up of antique Harleys. Hear no evo, see no evo, speak no evo! Lol, too many posers out there who get up in the morning and put on all their harley accessories to feel like a biker.
