Anza-Borrego Desert SP

Visiting another California desert: Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. The largest state park in California; 500 miles of dirt roads, 12 wilderness areas & miles of hiking trails. The park is named after Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza & the Spanish name "borrego", or bighorn sheep. The park features: washes, wildflowers, palm groves, cactus, and sweeping vistas. One may see the roadrunner, golden eagles, kit foxes, mule deer, and bighorn sheep as well as iguanas, chuckwallas, and the red diamond rattlesnake.

I just went to anza borrego for the first time this year. Its truly a magical place.

I think the best time of the year to go for pictures at Anza-Borrego is at the end of February to beginning of March. When I was there in mid-March, I observed only a selective group of wildflowers in full bloom, all beautiful though; but I'm positive that others out there captured the park way better than I did. All in all, it's really about the experience...

I agree with you I was there the first week in march this year and the wildflowers were awsome. I kinda went crazy taking pics.
