  • did you start bjj first or jjj first?

  • @alxh89 jjj

  • good clear explanation. Although the shoulder lock (aka nikyo pin) I was taught to be on my toes while kneeling when applying it. I couldn't see from the angle but on the 1st pin I've also been taught to be on my toes.

  • Thank you for your comments. Being on your toes is a moot point when in boots on the street. I always like to take the techniques 'out of the dojo' into the real world and apply them in that arena-the most important one in my opinion.

  • What you guys thinks its the best? Aikido or Jiu Jitsu?

  • We'll, we are jiu jitsu guys so we like jiu jitsu. Aikido comes from jujutsu but I studied aikido for over 10 years as well.

  • I've seen a lot of your submissions101 instructional movies. I like them a lot, I practice JJJ myself, unfortunately there is no BJJ school near where I live.

Your instructionals help me a lot in the gym. The techniques are always very well explained. Thank you and keep them coming!

  • Oh...then we just simply shoot the person in the face. Problem solved right?

  • @Submissions101

    I loled pretty hard.

Nice videos mate ;) This has encouraged me to start classes!

  • @Submissions101 LOLOL!!

  • @ValkyereHowie My sensei formerly studied under Okinawan Shorin-Ryu karate (very good, won a national and world chamionship in his day), he now studies BJJ. And how he puts it really made sense to me. You never want to be on the ground, but in a self defense situation, you may not even know you're in a fight until you hit the ground.

  • What if he try to bite you?

  • @Submissions101 where i come from, the people who arrest people for living rely on outnumbering rather than outgunning the suspects, when there's no gun to begin with. i guess it could be other way around in america, but the local d.a's gotta eat too. :-\

sometimes they use strategies like one pins the suspect down like this, while the other 'secures his back' by soccer-kicking the suspects ribs broken with their shiny combat boots. security is such a fun and orgasmic concept.

  • @Submissions101 Nice techniques. I practice Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate, nearing my 6th year now and preparing for 1st degree black belt. I love the oriental martial arts, I think they have and probably always will be the most effective due to their original sole purpose of self-defense. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is great for ground work no doubt and I'd like to learn basic techniques in case ever in a situation as such, but I believe standing is the no. 1 important and my focus.
