CarlD and countryFan, I give Tony a pass because he really is caught up in a situation that he had no business being caught up in really. They should have gone to the police. All he wanted was Nola back and had to deal with the craziness that was Helena and Quint.

Well, Anthony is just a working class guy who finds himself caught up in a pretty hectic situation. I think he handles himself pretty well. Tony is the reason this thing has a happy conclusion!

A lot of scenes where Tony has to interact with people outside of his family, with the exception of Hillary and later, Annabelle, show Tony to be just a wee bit confrontational and hot headed and as a consequence he comes off as not too bright. Tony's initial reaction fits his character in a scenario like that, I think.

This clip doesn't make Tony look very bright. He didn't know Helena had gone, and he seemed to think a man who had been beaten with a tire iron would be able to have a detailed conversation with him.
