@Ofionnain Not just Papuans.Everybody needs to be educated to face up to aggressive evangelism from any religion.Christian evangelism is particularly very aggressive, targeting all the "lost sheep" of the world (non-Christians). I am opposed to aggressive evangelism by any religion, even by my own religion Islam, and I myself don't go around trying to sell Islam. A Christian once came to me & asked me to convert him but I flatly refused. He converted anyway on his own elsewhere..

@Kermista Papuans need to be introduced to science to be able to criticize logically those new beliefs and decide for themselves... If they aren't educated to science, they might be easily influenced or converted by any religion...

@Ofionnain I have no problem with Papuans fighting for freedom & I wish them luck.I was happy when Timor Leste became free though I'm Muslim & Malay-speaking,things I share in common with Indonesians.I always support oppressed peoples of the world regardless of religions & ethnicity of the oppressed.But I think Indonesians have as much right as others to spread Islam among Papuans.Indonesia itself allows non-Muslims to propagate in Indonesia.Let Papuans decide to take or reject the new faith.

@Ofionnain Actually Indonesia itself came into being in 1945.So, it's a new country,even the name "Indonesia" is actually European.So, you see,it isn't just Papua,other parts of Indonesia,even Java,had been in Indonesia for only the last 50-60 years.They were all parts of Dutch East Indies,& Indonesia is built on these Dutch territories after a long struggle by Indonesians to get rid of Dutch.But if you ask my opinions,I think naturally Indonesian Papua should merge with PNG, not with Indonesia.

@Kermista Papua is only part of Indonesia since 50 years... Papuans already live in Papua since 40 000 years, it's their land, it belongs to them only and not to indonesians... Indonesians are only occupying it under the claim of a false democratic act....

I would rather say that christian evangelicals have no more right than islamist missionaries at converting Papuans... 

Phosphert is being compeltely ethnocentric by saying Papuan's way of life is wrong and that should be straightened...
