January 6th 2010 - over night we had heavy snow fall (for Britain at least), so I thought I'd try out my new Kodak Zi8 and get some coverage of it all.

I'm still working out some codec issues, which meant I had to convert the original video clips to MPEG-2 before editing, but this was originally shot 720p 30fps, however I think I'll shoot 720p 60fps on the Kodak Zi8 from now on.

N.B. Due to compression for YouTube (and so it didn't take ages to upload) this doesn't represent the true quality of 720p footage on the Kodak Zi8.

@dswat1 I haven't personally heard of that Sanyo until, but the stats for it look competitive. Compare the features of each, see if there might be comparison reviews between the Sanyo and Kodak, and see as much footage from each camera (in HD) on YouTube. But I personally love the Kodak.

See my North Berwick 2010 video as another, improved, example (in 720p HD) of what the Kodak can be used for (the stills were shot with another camera though).

@GloriousLosersTV - I got it as a present, but you can buy them in most places online or at electrical retailers. Of all the handheld HD pocket cameras, I'd say the Zi8 is the best due to the extra options and capabilities it has (such as Macro Mode, and the ability to plug an external microphone into it).
