Paxman's weather forecasts were very similar to those on spoof news show "The Day Today" from 1995. "Silvester Stewart" would say "In summary then... cool, showers, hot, cool, showers, hot".

Not really. Stewart's forecasts were full of metaphors that were either suggestive or just plain silly. Paxman however just cuts to the chase.
