Jessie is the village clock. She was recently electrified after being hand wound for well over 100 years. I climbed up to try to reset her after she stopped. Unfortunately this was unsuccessful.

I filmed it climbing into the clock tower of the former church. It shows the bell and the clock, but not the clock face.

The clock was put in for Queen Victoria's Jubilee. She is called Jessie as around the turn of the century some laddies climbed into the bell tower, poured a libation over the clock and named her after a local lass Jessie Cowe. The original Jessie later emigrated to Buenos Aries.

It was filmed to submit to 'Britain in a Day'
