A quick runthrough on how I do Chinese dumpling sauce.

All you need is soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice wine vinegar. Plus dumplings and tasty bao. I like pork and leek.

  • ok Bill K -- excellent !! I've been playin' wit the sauce for a couple of weeks and, thanks to yr

video have gotten the courage to use the measuring instrctns you demonstrate (i.e.; not just a half tsp of this 2 oz of that -- which, old as i am i always thought that you had to follow recipes That way !) . Anyway, i have come up with killer sauce, i have added chopped dried garlic and Kikkoman Ponzu, which if you've never had, TRY some; no Others only Kikkoman

take a swig from the bottle and see

  • @cbewen Dried garlic, huh? Maybe that's what the floaty things are supposed to be? (I refuse to google it at this point). What's the Ponzu? Is that a kind of soy sauce?

  • ok Bill, i have obtained all the fixin's and am gonna try this prob this weekend ....i'll let you know, but i am encouraged by the Sounds you make when you taste the finished version of yr sauce ... p.s. do you have a brother Tae??? lol

also, must say i have t' keep viewing this cause i LOVE 'Watch Carrie Eat' Great tune no kidding !! Also think it's nice that you credit Morgan Freeman even tho i think i didn't hear him. .... chuck

  • @cbewen LOL Tae and I don't talk much cos he runs around kicking everybody.

As for The Debutante Hour, yes they are fantastic. They have a YouTube channel and a facebook and all that. I posted a couple live vids of them on my channel. You can buy the album on Amazon & iTunes. Every song is great.

Good luck with your dumpling sauce! Don't forget the chives are optional.

  • very nice, very educational, and fairly amusing too

  • @cbewen Thanks! That was the plan. :)

I just realized I never explained why I stir it with a butter knife. It's cos we have 50 billion of them in the drawer that never get used, so why dirty a spoon? LOL

  • i think the garlic and the chives do a pretty nice approxmatn of the 'mysterious stuff' in the sauce ..... also KIKKOMAN Ponzu is to soy sauce like Guildens Mustard is to French's Yellow Mustard ... It is a DIFFERENT thing -- but too, Kikkoman is the Best and i've tried a lot of em .... some of 'em use a fish base ... ewwwww ........anyway, try it you'll like it ... if you don't

I will refund the purchase price ..... chuck
