@tripillthreat it's called 踊りエビ (odori ebi) in Japanese, which means "dancing shrimp"

車エビ (くるまえび　kurumaebi) is the kind of shrimp.

dancing shrimp comes from the fact that they are usually served in a sake solution whole and alive, and you have to break them and kill them yourself and the peal them to eat them. it's really a pain in the ass. often times the shrimp will jump and dance for you! which means you also have to chase your dinner... very めんどづさい。。。
