They're singing "Die Wacht Am Rhein". It's a song about the Germans rushing to defend their primary western border- the Rhine River- during an invasion from France. Ironically, "Le Marsellaise" was written for much the same reason, during an invasion from Prussia and Austria.

They're singing "Die Wacht Am Rhein," which translates to "Stab the Puny French with Our Rocklike German Penises."

Don't forget that this was filmed while the Germans occupied most of Europe. Those tears are genuine.

It was an awful time. My dad and I imagine so many people who post here have fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins, maybe even sons who fought during this time. May it never, ever, happen again. My all the peoples of the world in the all the nations of the world live in peace. From a retired sailor, rest easy oh so many souls, and may you never be forgotten regardless of who you were.

French commie resistance didn't even exist until around end of '42 when krauts started to get desperate and rounded up baguette eaters to use as forced labour. Truth is France was a sissy surrenderist if not a nazi sympathizer. If it wasn't for attack dog Churchill going all "MY BRITISH EMPIRE!" over the wurst eaters there would have been little to no resistance from France politicians and military. And I really do not blame the people, they're just tools as usual for assholes like de Gaule.

Arme kleine Deutsche.
