A Pew Research Council study carried out last year found that the vast majority (I'm talking in the 70-80% range) of Muslims in Egypt, Nigeria, Pakistan and Jordan believe that the punishment for adultery is stoning. The results of the study are online - you can see the results for yourself.

@Mattyb88ful sex outside marriage meaning adultery.. the punishment is not sharing the bed, having upto four witnesses that would testify the woman commited the act. the gatherign of four witnesses deffers in times for rural n urban places from when the crime was comiited. this further protects women as quran acknoeldges peoples r more socialable in ruurral areas than urban.. then it is house arrest.. if all fails and the woman continues.. u have light beating, and specific areas r prohibited.
