A lecture by Dr. Brian Tissot, WSU Vancouver. Marine ecosystems are renowned for their abundant and seemingly endless resources. However, despite the long-term importance of these ecosystems in protecting shorelines, controlling climate, and providing food and inspiration, the worlds oceans are currently in crisis. This situation is particularly clear with respect to fisheries, which are declining globally and threaten the health, economy, and livelihoods of communities all over the world.
