For those of you who genuinely don't know, or are too lazy to investigate your own religion, the church decided to repurpose the pagan (roman) holiday of saturnalia and turn it into christmas because so many christians already celebrated that holiday that they felt it was their right to modify it to suit their own purposes. Saturnalia has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with jesus, and jesus himself has never been proven to be anything other than a character in a book written by men.
