The Midwest Industries AK Mini Dot mount gives the AK shooter a nice low cost alternative to mounting a micro dot or small reflex sight to their rifle. The Midwest Industries AK Mini Dot mount is robust, simple to install and works great on AK47's and AK74's.

  • MAC, does the version two still incorporate the BUIS? Please advise, thanks!

  • @klosty6 Yes, it does.

  • Another EXCELLENT Review! The only questions I have is the usage of NiteSite with this system? And an opinion on your choice of peep sights with a Red dot or this system? I know there are a few factors involved with the last "opinion based" question but I would like to know anyway. Thank you for the effort on a Great vid.!

  • @LMarshall32 You could put an XS tritium front sight in the rifle and it would work great with this setup As for rear sights, you're stuck with the sight cut into the MI base.

  • What sight do you prefer with this mount?

  • Will it hold up for 3 Gun?

  • I am still new to the AK platform and firearms in general but I assume when installing this rear sight you will have to zero the irons first then zero the red dot sight? Someday I want to SBR a Draco but without a side rail this is my only optic mounting option without removing the handguard which I don't want to do. So this product appeals to me.

I assume you can tear the optic off this fast and go back to irons quickly if necessary? I also assume the new rear irons are as good as stock irons.

  • It seems this mount would have an advantage over the handguard mount in that it puts the optic closer to the eye- and would give a larger field of view through the optic- correct???

  • @Sturmgewehre Thanks for response!! Man that was friggin' ricky tick. Thanks for the great videos and keep up the awesome work. I don't think you fully understand how much help you guys are. This is a perfect option for my Tantal!

  • if thats all that scope mount has holding it on,a pin that doesnt drive in and stay, and i simple litte screw to tighten against it,,,theres no way id even waste my money on it!!,,hell, you can simply pull up on the mount ans the whole thing would be out of whak!!...ak;s were never intended for a scope,,,best to keep it simple

  • NICE! About to make the jump to an AK. You are totally great for information. Thank You.

  • @Sturmgewehre Great review. I was considering this until I heard about a similar one made by Attero arms. The concept is the same but seems a bit more solid in construction. Do you have any opinions or experiences with that one or plan to review?
