European star Seve Ballesteros won nine times on the PGA TOUR despite playing very few events in the United States. He reflects on his time playing in the USA in this interview clip.
Beehman, what were you an America afraid of? An extremely talented Spanish Golfer who beat the yanks in their own back yard. Seve lead the way for other Europeans to kixk you yank asses!
Fezziekid, what a dumb comment. The tour minimum at the time pertained only to playing regular tour events, NOT the majors which fall under different governing bodies. Seve was always exempt at the Masters, U.S. Open and PGA because he was a major winner. But of course you knew that.
I totally agree with the previous comments. Just wanted to add that the PGA does not even get the facts straight: Seve won 5 majors (3 British Opens, 2 Masters), not 4. Get well soon, Seve!
Completely agree. Beeman was a complete dork as well as the PGA. I think they were really defensive and didn't know what to do with Seve when he was spanking the US players around. Tiger on his prime and Seve on his prime. My money is on Seve and no scoring crap, match play. Greatest player I have ever seen play live.
Seve was a great champion, wish we had more guys like him

The comment was four in the '80s - which is correct. He won one Open in 1979. I agree, however, they should have just said five major championships.
