Start with any object or person and work your way out. For existence to exist it must have an external creator or process by which it was formed. However, we cannot conceive that which is external of this plane of existence, unless given knowledge of it by it. So to apply this logical concept to an external existence would be illogical. Furthermore, everything (knowledge, truth, etc.) in this plane of existence would proceed from the external source, God!

  • @Kelzicon Do you really think because you're an atheist you somehow fit into the statics? Do you even understand the statics?

  • @gulbirk thanks for answering that for me... for a moment I thought reality was highly debatable, but your answer sures up any conceived notion that it is a matter of perception (which we all have) [SIC]...

  • @wolfizwatchin No not at all. You do choose do believe or not, thats true, but that has no bearing in reality. Something isnt true just because I choose to believe it.

Weather or not God exists is like any other question that needs evidence before you should believe it.

  • ..."the atheist dies and becomes a beautiful tree, and a big fat lumberjack storms through the forest half drunk from the night before and chops the tree down, sends it to the mill, and a bible is printed on it..." -Dane Cook

I couldn't resist, btw I have no stake in this argument/video/ideology

  • @gulbirk I'm not religious by any stretch of the imagination... but a person who does not believe in god, chooses not to believe, you either do or you don't right? Is that what you are saying? Because, to believe or not believe in anything is to acknowledge it's presence at a strictly fundamental level.

  • sorry, you seem to have no clue what atheism is. Atheist= A person who does not believe in god..

THats it. Atheists dont have to explain anything, you are arguing from ignorance. When the answer is un known the the right answer is """I dont know""". God doesnt exist just because there are some things we cannot answer.

  • You are setting up an argument with certain rules, and then giving your preconceived notion a special exclusion to your certain rules.

How come God gets this special exclusion pass, but the universe itself does not?

Also, you can replace the word God, with anything else and it will be indistinguishable from your argument.

There are plenty of scholars, both within and outside Philosophy, that have rebutted the Kalam cosmological argument. I suggest reading up on them.
