Party on...2 years training w00t!

I try to prevent myself from doing planches now but training it has kind of become an occupational hazard. Technically I really shouldn't be doing them at all due to my wrist condition, however I hadn't had a flare up in a while so I thought I'd give it a shot.
I've been training a little differently than the way I used to...currently experimenting with some weights training on certain muscle groups...but I think I still got it =)

This particular attempt could very well have been my best. I haven't been able to maintain it this long and not develop a slight bend in my elbows so feel I a sense of achievement in myself after doing this.

Future Videos include a training video for how I achieved the planche and also a typical training night =) Stay Tuned...Love your wrists x

  • any tips on moving from tuck planche to advanced tuck plache?

  • Theres pages of pages I can say about that mate, its hard to cram it all in...endless push ups, and then some. Throw a few attempts everyday..maybe 3 or 4 at the most, it comes to you slowly but surely. Put 100% effort into it, every second counts. The more strict you are with form, posture and all the rest of it...the better due to hypertrophy/ Listen to your body, if something hurts then something is wrong, at that point stop...pushing through the pain will do more harm than good! Thats it! =)

  • @MartialDriscoll I know you say 3 -4 attempts everyday.. but wouldn't that be bad? I mean for maximum growth you're not supposed to work out the same muscle groups for at least 48 hours to give them time to recover and become stronger. Also aren't you only supposed to do ONE lifting (or in this case planching) session in one day?

  • That is true, but if muscle growth is what you want then I wouldn't recommend planches, your increase in size will increase the pressure on your joints and I promise you that you that they will start to shatter. How many you do in an entire day if purely up to you. You best play it safe because the planche is a very un-natural position to put your body in and your joints will suffer from it over time. Some peoples joints last more than others and some do not last at all. Another comment...

  • When I say attempt it i didn't mean that as a training session and thats it. As I said its hard to cram everything in! =( My goal was never to gain muscle growth, to gain size doing bodyweight exercise does not work. You can only train strength so much to the extent where strength becomes endurance, which a planche will become if you're that lucky. But I'm sure that as you know, to increase strength you increase the weight...in the case of a planche, it is unsafe and not worth risking.

  • Hi :) you're very strong :) how many straddle planche push-ups can you do?

  • @Rafanatil At my peek I was able to do 8 max.
