If you've ever been to the pan
Then you'll understand why I'm singing

At Luderitz we all drank Windhoek ale
At Kolmanskop we scrambled in the sand
At Swakopmund we sun-tanned on the beaches
We hoped to find a diamond in this land

Etosha, Okaukuejo, Halali
Placed in the sun
Etosha, Namutoni, Ondongab
Journey's just begun.

At Sossusvlei we climbed the highest sand dune
At Sesriem we all slept beneath the stars
The countryside was lit up by a full moon
The planets over head included Mars

Otjikoto Lake is still a mystery
The goldfish swimming there are always blind
But then South West has everything to offer
You only leave your footprints behind

Etosha, Okaukuejo, Halali
Places in the sun
Etosha, Namutoni, Ondongab
Room for everyone

When we all arrived back here in Cape Town
The rain was coming down and it was cold
But far away up north at Okaukuejo
The game were drinking at the waterhole.

If you never go to Etosha
If you never go to the Pan
If you never to to Etosha
You will be an ignorant man.
