A good act and good word is a start to the process. Every people wants to maintain their ways of life, beliefs, and faiths, even me and my family. Learn to respect others, because it goes a long way. Be respectful of yourself and others will see it.

But I think that the first thing that ppl can do is to stop using the condescending white anthropological term "aborigine" once + for all, uhh. It is not their tribal name + referring to the ppl as native Australians or indigenous Australians would be a big help in combating the racism of white settler society.

Wat has changed? Since Howard was treasurer in the Fraser federal govt (1970's), there has been little improvement. Once he became PM, his regime exploited racism against refugees + then native Australians (still called "aborigines"). Really little govt expenditure has reached rural indigenous communities + they have been deprived for generations of services + facilities taken for granted in mainstream Australian communities. The NT Intervention was really a kind of mini martial law, uhh!
