Sung by the incomparable Dusty Springfield. Words & Music by Glen Larson. If it's a Glen Larson Production, I'm watching it!

Ozzie Nelson was a musician who produced a long-running TV series and could have obviously been his idol. As a matter of fact, Glen Larson appeared in at least one episode of Ozzie & Harriett along with his group, The Four Preps.

In the 70's alone, Glen Larson wrote and produced Alias Smith & Jones, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers, Quincy M.E., B.J. and the Bear and The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries. Of course, his most famous and fondly remembered show that we're all still patiently awaiting the big screen version of is The Misadventures Of Sheriff Lobo! It was Johnny Carson's favorite Glen Larson show with Manimal running a close second.

In terms of television entertainment, Glen Larson IS the man!

  • Opening credits say music by Stu Phillips - could you clarify, please?

  • @chkjns Stu Phillips and Glen Larson have a partnership going back nearly forty years now from when they were on staff at Universal. Virtually every series that Glen Larson ever produced has a theme and music written by Stu Phillips. It is my understanding that generally Stu wrote music, but Glen, with his expertise as a musician and producer, contributed to both the music and lyrics.

  • Thanks for this rarity! Hopefully this will feature on a future Dusty compilation album.

  • Gosh, I hope so, too. The lyrics are a bit campy, but her vocals are awesome and really sell it.

  • Battlestar Galatica among others. Personal fave.

  • and let's not forget:

Glen Larson is also best known for creating other successful TV shows in the 80's:

Magnum, P.I., The Fall Guy and of course, Knight Rider

  • Great Theme!

  • @chuckcollins - my mistake due to too much creative genius here! I stopped reading too soon! The next frame after music 'STU PHILLIPS' says (theme) 'song, words & music GLEN LARSON'.

I have found these production 'overlaps' sometimes make it impossible to figure out who did what!
