Wizz Jones - One Grain Of Sand

From his 1972 album ' Right Now ',re-issued on cd by Cherry Red in 2009.A beautiful song written by Pete Seeger and featuring John Renbourn on sitar.Wizz was described by Bert Jansch as "the most underrated guitarist ever", and name-checked by the likes of Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Rod Stewart as an important early influence.

I missed this one in 1972 -- and I am blown away by how good this song sounds almost 40 years later. To someone 20 years old it may not sound that great. To my ears, it's great. Ok it has that dated sitar but it sounds like it was recorded yesterday. I like the song and the singer -- but I also applaud the recording engineers too. A great track. Beautifully recorded.
