@ranus42 i dis-agree. i really think this album kicked real hard. but i think the following albums until he freed himself were bland. in saying that...there were a couple of songs on gold that i thought were weak - but the whole concept - well it blew my mind.

Prince played what he heard and felt. As far as this album is concern it certainly reflects the tumultuous strain he was going through at this particular point in his career. However, their are some solid gems on this album such as 'P Control' this one 'Shhhh...' 'Shy' however, the production is over the top and this album felt rushed. Not one of my top 5 fav Prince albums but certainly in my top 10.
