How to do some of Tom morello's Tricks

A "killswitch" is a device musicians like Tom Morello and Buckethead use to make On-Off effects on their guitars. A killswitch can be made if an electric guitar has TWO pickups and TWO SEPARATE volume controls for EACH ONE. Set ONE down to 0 and the other to 10. Flipping between the toggle switch will make the On-Off sound. ATTENTION!!! LES PAULS, SG'S, AND OTHER GIBSON GUITARS HAVE THIS 2 PICKUP SYSTEM (Most of the time). Fender guitars do NOT (emphasis on NOT) have this system and flipping between the 5-way selector switch and trying to scratch makes you look retarded as this does not work. I GOT MY FENDER SQUIRE AFFINITY SERIES STRAT FITTED WITH A KILLSWITCH FOR $50! THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET FENDER KILLSWITCHES.


Edit: It has come to my attention that some fender guitars are fitted with killswitches such as the FENDER JAGUAR and other Fender guitars.

Not bad but on 'like a stone' you dont have to use tremelo. If so then a whammy but the real trick is (if you have the option) to turn up the 'rate' on your amplifier. Most fender amps have this option.

Depending on the amp settings I get a popping sound when I killswitch with a manually installed killswitch. It's still a great switch

@klxghoist Well seeing as the LP has 2 volumes and a three way, yea. Just turn the volume down on one of the pickups and toggle back and forth, this will create the "kill effect"
