At the hospital, Tom and Alice, Mickey and Mike gather around Jennifer's bedside worriedly. Jennifer has not regained consciousness, and Jack watches from the door, feeling helpless. Mike says they have to run tests to see how she's doing, and Alice tells Tom how worried she is. Later, test results show that Jennifer has a concussion, but she'll be fine. The Hortons leave to allow Jennifer her rest, and outside the room, Jack hesitantly approaches Mike. Mike is none too thrilled to see Jack there, but Jack says it's only natural. Jennifer is his employee and a fine reporter, and he wants to know how she is. Mike gives him the information he needs, but insists that Jack cannot visit—it's family only. Then Mike tells Jack to leave Jennifer alone; it's the best thing he can do for her. Mike exits, leaving Jack to think on that. But Jack can't hide his concern, and he slips into Jennifer's room. Sitting by her bedside, Jack talks softly to her, telling her to get better. He even promises that he has a surprise for her, if she'll open her eyes and wake up.
