Glad to rewatch this video since I'm going to sit with my brother Friday. He's having angioplasty, and yet thinks I'm nuts for eating a whole plant food diet.

so a lifetime of plaque accumulation is reversed in a few weeks... im sure a vegan diet is better than a lifetime of eating steaks and bacon but i think this is taking it a bit too far...

Peter is from Cardiff and has a Welsh accent {with a bit of American added} To suggest he is English is a grave insult both to himself , and to the Welsh nation.Thank goodness the FWA are having a quiet patch . VU- you and I know that Welshmen haven't used the word boyo for at least 30 years - what were you thinkin of Butty ?

tonylunnie - Agree 100%; Esseslstyn / McDougall / Ornish diet works, and the hospital is not then needed. But Marcoosianism above is completely correct too. A sort-of vegetarian diet is useless as protection against heart disease. 'This little bit CAN and WILL hurt (our health).'
One can choose to eat anything one likes of course. But one shouldn't then expect to be heart attack proof, which IS the case on Dr. E's recipe. "Horses for courses."

thanks headveg for putting this video on. I saw his lectures a LONG time ago on google-videos but have since forgotten Dr Esselstyn's name until i landed on this by accident.
Tony, with all due respect, you have to eliminate ALL animal products, especially dairy products and get your total fat intake down to 10% of calories or less to get the results men like Dr. Esselstyn speak of.
Any vegetarian diet including milk, cheese, eggs, etc. does very little to benefit health, unfortunately. As well, with these diets, fat intake can very easily, and most often does, exceed even the 30% fat level irresponsibly recommended by mainstream agencies. VEGAN is the way to go.
