Were you playing on easy mode? I've never played it but I have a good feeling I could do it on at least medium/hard.

Aha. Yeah, I think it was easy mode. And I believe it would be easy to play for a person who had at least SOME practice before, but that was my first time actually seeing that game. :)

There is another difficulty mode called Oni mode (Very Hard mode), which can be unlocked if you hit the right rim 20 times when you are selecting hard mode, it is a real challenge for advanced players.

OMG You can play super mario theme on those- I played in taito, hiroshima- I sucked at it, but it was good fun. Wish they had as cool arcades in the uk :(
