this performance is so good because while making this, she is like making love with the piano and kissing the microphone. she is really feeling the song. while watching, you can see how she smashes the faces of those beautiful boys. and at the "giiiiiiiiirlllllllllll" part, it reaches all infinity

here lies the adolescent female frenzyy, after having been stifled for so long that it festers both beautifully unjusted in lyrics, but also reminds that the lyrics are all of what Tori is about. I love her paradox. Always, because they remind me that we are all briliant and shining and angry-laugh-cry for a resaon.

This is how you make love to a piano and a microphone......

@Allnamesrbelongtou IMHO, this song is about a mix of things - in the context of her sexual assault she steps back from herself and the way she has tortured herself for it and attacks the system that secretly agrees with her -who wasn't a "nice girl" and she starts to transcend these impotent and destructive emotions, asking that these precious things wash away and break their hold on her.

I'm always in awe of her musicality. Her piano playing is out of this world. Sure u get classically trained pianists. But how many of them add these deep lyrical insight, whilst singing with such passion. How do u fault this woman??.. ya cant!

So what are the lyrics to this song really about? Very confusing.
and on the eigth day, God created the jewels, gold, silver, and all "precious things". But he felt there was something missing. So he created Tori Amos <3

What I admire about her is, that she performs her songs in 1000 different ways. Its like hearing a new song... And that is (for me) the best performance of her playing "precious things. "
