This series is a review and demo of the Festool Domino Joining System. The first two videos overview the tool (part 1) and Dominos (part 2). Part 3 shows the tool in use with some discussion (surprise!). Part 4 is a strength test of some of the joints discussed and a review of their failures and what that means in your projects.

  • Thanks, Levitating! And thanks for the LOL about plowing a small groove in the router demo ;)

  • Thanks a lot for the whole Domino-Review! I bought a DF 500 yesterday, opend the box and was a bit confused. The manual did not help at all. After watching the entertaining videos I went to my workbench, grabbed the DF 500 and worked with it as if I used it for my whole life. You did a great job and i am looking forward to your other videos! Thank you again!! Its strange: as a German I need a review from Arizona to understand my Made in Germany-Tool...

  • @Marquart1972 Okay that's funny about the German using a German tool needing an Arizona review :) Glad it helped you out. It's the basics, but once you get past that part of the curve (which you have), the rest becomes playing around. If you visit my blog, there's a section for the Domino with other useful tidbits. Have fun!

  • You'll definitely like the Domino, screamingbull (love that name...) It has a learning curve like anything 'new', but once you get the hang of it you have to concentrate on not going toooo fast with it and making mistakes. (What's an extra visible mortise among friends?)
