Thank you for your comment, your robot's house is very nice too!

The Automower also has three (3) jointed blades. Anyone who has seen both machines in action will go for the Automower. Compared to it the Robomow sounds like a jet-engine and runs around blindfolded. The Automower simply plays in a higher division.

It seems that Robomow doesn't do random directions after bumping into the perimeter wire or an object. The demo for the Automower seems to show it bouncing off of something or the perimeter and choosing a random direction to take after.
Thank you for showing your Robomow's home. I considered the same thing, but thought the Robomow would get confused when it backed out or returned to its charger.

Thanks for your comment captaindrakon! Instead of a random direction, Robomow zigzags across the lawn from right to left at a slight angle. When it reaches the perimeter edge, the angle is changed more drastically (like 30 degrees). Then it makes another zigzag pass from left to right. This insures that all gress gets cut. The house just has to be big enough to allow normal operation for departing. I will post measurements later. Only one sheet of plywood was needed.

Have a look at the Automower from Husqvarna before buying one. About same price but only 69 decibel and much clever electronics.

I also looked at those before deciding on the Robomow. The price of the Husqvarna was at least $300 higher when I got mine. I also like the fact that the Robomow has three 7 inch blades (allowing a 21 inch cut). The Husqvarna only has a single blade so it takes longer to cover the same area. Quiet is a good thing, but compared to gas powered mowers, the Robomow is pretty quiet (about like an air conditioner).

I cant believe you went to all the trouble to run the wire around all your piles of junk concrete blocks, why not just clean up your yard first!

Those blocks are there to keep me from running over exposed fuel oil lines with my "now retired" push mower. It is easy enough to adjust that section of wiring at any time. Thanks for posting. :-)
