Presenting arguments for the existence of a Being who is commonly referred to as 'God' by use of logical reasoning, establishing the existence and nature of this Being by pondering existence and time, making the case for and analyzing the attributes of [an] uncaused cause[s], proving that life is not an illusion, dismantling the theory of infinite regression, embracing the reality of evil, and reflecting on the observance of complexity in reality.

I asked: “Is it objectively wrong to molest babies for fun?”

You said: “no it isn’t, that is an emotional argument to make me say something that sounds awful, a typical deceitful tactic of christians…”

“a typical deceitful tactic of christians” betrays your belief in objective moral values.

    So, I ask again:

“What’s wrong with the use of an emotional argument to make you say something that sounds awful, even if it is classed as a typical deceitful tactic of Christians?”

  • I am not much on rap but that opening song was sweet. Could I get a link on that?

Why can't I just ignore reality when it suits me?

  • @hempartist420

You have no objective basis for lodging a complaint. There is no obligation to embrace your subjective views, which is not necessarily true.

  • @MyContext I agree with some of your posters, this is a badly presented video, since, it requires a lot of back and forth to properly review what you are saying. The music doesn't make it much easier. I recommend, should you need to do something like this in the future, that you create a Google Doc and have that as an attachment to the video and simply talk about the basic issues surrounding whatever you are presenting in the document link - allowing changes in response to actually issues.

  • @joehardysr Your argument stops being an argument at about F4. The material prior to that point had a certain resonance and supportability. However, from F4 on (for the most part), it was pure conjecture without a basis for the claim. One could assault the whole thing as being purely speculative, however, where would our philosophical development come from if we didn't play with possibilities and review the merits - eh?

  • @joehardysr I don't accept the idea that free will actually exists. Granted, we must ACT like free will exists, however, given that we are locked within (or so it would seem) a cause & effect linkage, it does not follow that our choices are in fact free. All of our choices seem to be tied to antecedent causes. So, if you are claiming god set things as they are, it also follows that it (god) has effectively determined all choices that will be made as part of the causal chain.

  • I consider time in two states: 1) Potential - time is existent if there is the potential for ANYTHING to change regardless of whether any change actually takes place and regardless of any notion of duration 2) Measurement of intervals in whatever factor as is appropriate to the rate of change as a concurrent notion of all changes, although, we tend to only look at one aspect of all the concurrent "rates" of time...

Do you have any objection to this depiction?

  • Looks like there is a bit of fun to be had... I will transcribe your claims and critique accordingly. Since, there were a number of areas that I see to be problematic to a contradiction to reality as it is commonly understood to be. The most notable being the claim of what is good and what is evil as part of a causal agent's make up... I haven't had the opportunity to see a nice chain like the one you have presented before...must aren't as delightfully detailed.

  • @joehardysr sure.
