This is my story of my laser eye surgery with Optical Express on 28th January 2010 at the Southampton, West Quay branch.

I had Intralase Lasik Wavefront Laser Eye Surgery.

I'm getting done in 10 days! I can't afford wavefront so I'm getting the poor man's version where, instead of using a laser to create the flap, they do it with a hacksaw or something. There isn't an hour which goes by without me thinking about it & pooing myself a little bit :/

I could definitely see myself chickening out if I hadn't already paid.

@poolehart ha ha the hacksaw comment made me giggle, I'm pretty sure they use something slightly more delicate.

@smiffysmrs Well I'm taking my own sterilised hacksaw blade just in case. I'm from the north - we do things differently up here.

I'll bookmark & comment back after the op. I guess it's all encouraging for others who're considering it. If I'm blinded, I won't be able to type anyway, so it's win win... kinda.

@jamerficana The voucher gets you £150 off the cost of the surgery, you get it for beiung reccommended by me,so to speak. You need to produce the voucher at the consultation.

@smiffysmrs I called and surprisingly they gave me a lot of info over the phone. I have 8.00 vision and they did surgery on people with worse. But I have to have thick eyeballs! Yikes! Im definetly gonna go to the free consultation but I might have to get someone to wheel me in with a wheelchair .(exaggeration) icant wear contacts for 5 days. :(. Whats a voucher?

@jamerficana i kinda had coke bottle eye sight - i ALWAYS had to have the lenses thinned and even then i still couldnt have any frames that didnt have a rim all the way round LOL

If you really want to have it done go and have a consultation and they'll talk over everything with you there. Let me know if you want a voucher :~)
