REMEMBRANCE DAY 2011 - GENERAL WALTER NATYNCZYK Speech 2010

Speech at the Berlin War Cemetery: Canadian Chief of Defence Staff - General Walter Natynczyk, addresses Canadian High School students to end the Victory in Europe Tour 2010, in Germany on May 9th.

German Soldiers lay wreaths as part of a ceremony to commemorate Canadian and German soldiers who fought from 1939 - 1945 during World War Two. Students placed flags and wreathes and observed a minute of silence.

This ceremony marked the end of a European Battlefield Tour, from Paris to Berlin. It was the first ever ceremony in this Berlin Cemetery with Canadians.

Part of a documentary following students from Bear Creek Secondary School in Barrie, Ontario, Canada.

My killing of other human beings is lawful I received a commission from her majesty the queen and her government that give me the authority to lead her forces into battle and to defend her realms and if you are of a Commonwealth realm that means you! however I decline to defend you, you can fend for yourself if need be.

@dividebyzerotentimes Citizens did stand up for what they thought was right, by joining his majesties armed forces to fight the Nazi's. History is more your opinionated theories its about facts and if you ever read about WWII you would know that we where justified, and to contradict me in the subject of history you are contradicting an officer in her majesties navy with 15 years of experience fighting wars and a degree in History from Sandhurst I doubt you know more of the subject than I do.

@dividebyzerotentimes Unnecessary slaughter would be the actions of those very people Canada and The British Empire fought against. Have you forgot Hitler and the holocaust. Or Hitlers Bombing of civilian targets? We fought WWII to stop truly evil men from destroying us all. We British and Canadians drew a line in the sand and said "We will fight on, we will fight on the beaches on the landing grounds in the hills and streets will not go quietly into the night we will never surrender"!
