Summary: Were Mary and Joseph neglectful when they failed to realize that Jesus wasn't with them in the caravan? What can this story teach us about modern-day parenting?
Verse: "When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it; but supposing Him to have been in the company, they went a days journey, and sought Him among their relatives and acquaintances. So when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him."
—Luke 2:43-45

but after 3 days!! didnt Jesus think even for a second "wheres mum and dad?" or was it customary for children to stay away days on end without their parents knowing? saying " why wouldnt you know im here doing my fathers work" is rather rude dont you think.. why didnt it cross his mind to go look for his parenst and when greeted by them say to his mother something like " i tried looking for you but couldnt find you so i stayed here" ..
