Cool reflections! I know that for me the biggest surprise was finding out how much MORE students were willing to respect me when I really held them accountable for their actions.

Thank you so much for this video. It is my first year of teaching and I just got through my first semester. I have felt and experienced all of the things that you mentioned in the beginning. Sometimes it seems like other teachers will be looking at me and thinking "why doesn't she get this yet", so it was very nice to see your honest, real, and relatable account of your first year. I will watch this the rest of the year, it just may help get me through! THANK YOU!!!

How valiant that you took so much time to write meaningful comments to your students!
I had nightmares too about the kids! And yet I cried on the last day of school. How weird this job is!

Having gotten nearly eaten alive while subbing in a 7th grade class this year, I'm sympathetic with the struggles! I am really impressed with the way you were able to get past the nightmare visions and stress to really love your kids. I love your video's empathy, and I learned from it.
