  • Any idea where paradise divide meets this trail in the video?

  • @fitchhollister The start of the video is just north of the intersection with the Paradise Divide trail (within 200 yds.). If you look closely at the rotating map at the beginning of the video, you will see a label for Cinnamon Mtn. This mountain forms the northern boundary of Paradise Basin and the Divide.

  • Wow @5:15. Are you in a JK?

  • @fitchhollister Yup. 2010 stock Rubicon. This was its break in trip.

  • @mbjeepster Thx. It wasn't an unlimited was it? I've got a JKU and I'm hoping it's not too long for some of the tight turns.

  • @fitchhollister My Rubicon is not the Unlimited so it has the shorter wheel base. Nonetheles, you should be okay. Just make sure you go south to north. The section starting at 6:55 (Devil's Punchbowl) is much tougher uphill than downhill and the locals don't recommend going uphill without axel lockers. I saw Ulimiteds on all the trails I travelled including Black Bear but they had a tougher time getting through the steps. Check out the other trails by clicking on the "6 Videos" button above.

  • See...now this is why I love Colorado!!! I did this same trail in 1996 in a rental Ford Explorer - came from Mount Crested Butte. Thanks for posting this - I only shot stills at the time. Did you see the pile of vehicles below to your left around time 9:13 off to your left? This is where a number of people were killed in the 70s slipping off the road where the water has eroded the road opposite the wet rock face (I think!!).

  • How come you didn't show any of the bodies? :)

  • i hope this video has been sped up!

  • @mbjeepster Thx. I'm headed down there this weekend and I'm going to intersect at the Paradise Divide trail.

  • Man, that was excellent ! Thanks for posting it. I didn't think Schofield was that skinny in spots but now I know !

  • @mbjeepster Amazing video BTW. Thank you for posting it!
