With the completion of my ceiling fan alternator conversion, I am moving on to a small 3 phase axial flux alternator design for a vawt. I'm new at this so I'll need all the help I can get. I'll try a thin gauge 27 awg wire size with as many turns as necessary to generate 12v + for a slower rpm vawt. The final vawt I'm shooting for is similar to the Haitian vawt by youtuber, Lynxsteam. Casting the stator will be a challenge. Oh well, nothing like failure to make you appreciate the final success that will come.

  • How did it work out?

  • @sirtom68 I made the alternator and added an extra rotor with bigger magnets. It can charge a small battery pack. Check out my other videos. I have a few videos on this alternator.

  • maybe you could use a bicycle wheel shaft, nice magnets you have there.

  • @Iseekoutthetruth I wish I had kept my bikes but I got rid of them. The wires I got on ebay and the saw blade is an old old one. I have to rummage around for more parts for the small vawt.
