'y' in Welsh is always a vowel but it has two sounds - clear and obscure - 'ee' and 'uh' as in Cymry (what the Welsh call theselves) - kuhmree - first is one pronunciation the second is the other
very good, I would suggest getting a linguist to teach proper pronunciation (ar lan y mor is pronounced ahr lahn uh mor, not ahr lan ee mor, to use laymans pronunciation), but the sounds themselves are great, good work.

'y' is the definite article and always 'uh'
'yr' before vowels and 'h' 'uhr'
