On Jan. 12 2008, about 1,000 local residents of Shanghai gathered at the People's Square, which locates in front of the city hall, to protest against the extension project of the maglev railroad, shouting slogans "Save the homeland!", "No more maglev!" and "Save the children!".
Later, the group moved to the Nanjing road and grew up to two or three thousand.

  • I love it when ordinary people protest against the corrupt, to use whatever non-violent means to take back what was stolen from them. The criminality is EVERYWHERE, and there needs to be a day of reckoning.

  • government will act and then in the night send police to capture the ring leader, then they will charge with strange name like leaking government secret, trying to demonish motherland so and so and finally your life in prison, if yur parents talk about that they might loss job too, soo cccp oh my god is a demon

  • i think the goverment just pretend to hold a hearing...the way chinese goverment act always
