he turns his head so nicely as he turns back. this really helps to get a full body turn, if you are struggling with staying behind the ball, maybe try allowing the head to turn with the shoulders, it's really helping me a lot at the moment!
Ernie has said that he feels "all arms" starting back--and the rest of the body picks up and supports the swing as he goes. Your hands can be a little bit more or less active as long as the arms are swinging and the rest of the body is supporting.
Also, something that people often make mistake of grip strength. Try without a club and stand up right the way you would walk and just let your arm loose, When you hold the grip with your left hand at that position that is neutral grip. So Zach Johnson's grip could be neutral for him where as tiger's grip is neutral for him. It really depends on what is natural for you. I have a neutral grip, but probably in between of zach and tiger. Hope these stuff helps. Check out my video for initiation.
Okay I'll tell you what i know. Every swing should use big muscles meaning you should initiate your swing with your shoulder. I have not really seen fisher and campbell swing, but in case of ernie, he initiate with his shoulder turn, but just cock his wrist much earlier than tiger and rory.
when one takes the club back, what initiates it.what i mean is it the hands or the arms.Tiger,Rory Mcilroy are all arms and shoulders while Ross Fisher,Ernie ,Campbell are wristy..........
i have tried both but i'm just not comfortable with my initiation.
Also i have a strong grip like Adam and Zach Johnson but if you notice Adam takes it bit with his hands and then his arms but not the case with the latter, just arms.....................
oh well i meant his forearms not the hands ofcourse you cant tell that how strong he's holding.
His left arm is so straight when he takes it back, and so much wristy which Tiger suggests a big "NO" rather take it back with your shoulders.................
Good question. First, though, I don't see the stiffness and rigidity you do in the left hand on the takeaway.
But more generally, this is the kind of instruction which--even when spoken by a player the caliber of Els--really is meaningless. Of course you have to have a certain amount of tension or you can't hold the club. What he's talking about is destructive tension or overtension. So many elements in the swing are that way--it's always a balance between too much and not enough.

When you say your hand bends, what do you mean exactly?
