Canadian Sunset by Andy Williams

Andy and his three older brothers Dick, Don, and Bob, formed a quartet, The Williams Brothers, in the late 1930s. He went solo in 1952 and became a regular on Steve Allens Tonight Show in 1955. This song, his third single, hit the Top Ten in 1956. Some of his better-known hits include Are You Sincere, Lonely Street and Moon River. The Andy Williams Show was a top-rated TV weekly from 1962 through 1971.

On July 9, 1955, Bill Haley and His Comets hit #1 with Rock Around the Clock, signifying the start of the Rock Era. On April 21, 1956, Elvis Presley hit #1 with Heartbreak Hotel, sending this new sound into the stratosphere.

The first time I heard this song was an instrumental by Hugo Winterhalter and "My Speceal one"and I had just been to Montreal and were headed back to N.J. this was 1956. The song came up via the radio and we were on a beautiful scenic road .and still in Canada. I'll never forget the song,the trip to Montreal and most of all "My Special One" It's 2010 and I still remember. do you W.T.P.?
