Back in the day, my hair was blond and my older brother's hair was brunette. Hall and Oates reminds me of my brother and I when we were running a major-appliance repair shop in Bowling Green, Ky.
He was going through a divorce, so it was a difficult time for both of us. I was doing my best to keep him from going off and doing something stupid.
One night, we were walking back to the shop. He freaked out. He thought his dog, Scruffie, had been killed. I thought so, too. It was a rug!
